Poem number eight

I wrote this poem some thirty years ago.

It was published in a poetry magazine called DIAL

It has been republished in a wholeyogaayurveda newsletter a couple of months ago (see my instagram account-pink flowers image- for details)

This short poem was written about how we cope with this emotion

It occurred to me that belief in oneself or that other’s believed in you-be that a physical or metaphysical being or indeed a combination of all was the way to go

I recount this poem to myself repeatedly.

It makes me smile to do so

I hope that it has the same effect on you

When fear of what I know

And of what I have yet to learn

Shakes my slumber

I reach

for the warm alcoves

that I know

Wrestle with limbs

which surround me

key to lock makes a whole

And,as I am drenched

by the reassurrance

of HIS omnipresent love
